About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer with a strong focus on backend development to help design and build the scalable systems that power our products. You’ll take ownership of features from start to finish, defining APIs and data models, architecting cloud services, and bringing them into production.

While your expertise is in the backend, you’ll also collaborate across the stack, working closely with frontend, data, and hardware teams to create seamless, well-integrated solutions. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys building high-performance systems, making thoughtful architectural decisions, and shaping the future of our platform.

What You Will Do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Python (FastAPI, Flask, or similar)
• Architect and evolve data models, pipelines, and cloud infrastructure (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, AWS) for performance and scalability
• Define and lead system architecture, ensuring seamless integration across backend, hardware, and cloud components
• Develop high-performance, production-grade code and real-time services with strong reliability and maintainability
• Deploy and operate cloud-native systems using Docker and Kubernetes
• Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, frontend, and data science teams to deliver cohesive, end-to-end solutions
• Champion engineering excellence through code reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement of workflows, automation, and best practices
• Ensure reliability, security, and observability across distributed systems and services

What You’ll Bring:

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend engineering
• Deep hands-on expertise in Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar frameworks)
• Solid understanding of database design, data modeling, and query optimization
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong proficiency in Linux environments, including shell scripting, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
• Understanding of distributed systems, data streaming, and real-time processing
• Exposure to frontend technologies (React, TypeScript, or similar) and API-driven architecture
• Advantage – Experience with hardware integration (e.g., sensors, embedded systems, device communication protocols)
• Advantage – Familiarity in Rust - especially for performance-critical or system-level components
• Excellent problem-solving skills, technical curiosity, and a drive for engineering excellence
• Exceptional communication skills and a strong team-oriented mindset
